Outer Hebrides – 6 days 950 miles
Days One and Two
The adventure begins with a ride to Fort William, home of Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. Route via the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. This is a journey of superlatives, no more so than the next morning’s ride along the Road to the Isles, made famous by cinematic railway journeys! Then it’s a short ferry hop onto Skye where the journey continues north following the outline of the dramatic Cuillin mountains. It’s less than two hours’ ferry to North Uist, the home of beautiful sandy bays, dunes and abundant wildlife.
Days Three and Four
The following afternoon, the ferry crosses to Harris and Lewis, island of contrasts, where we spend two nights. Blue seas and pale sandy beaches give way to a rocky landscape that is out of this world! An awesome road head towards the island capital Stornoway. Take a look at island life from the stone age right up to the present day.
Days Five and Six
The afternoon ferry heads back to mainland Scotland and the pretty town of Ullapool. A simply awesome stretch of road and breathtaking landscape leads us to our loch-side accommodation in the heart of the Highlands. Day six sees the return to the Lake District via a distillery in the Grampian Mountains.
Price includes all ferry crossings, 3 museums and a distillery.
